Is there a way to block UN-wanted calls on cell phones?
Lately I’ve been getting annoying phone calls from telemarketers trying to sell me things. Last I’ve heard, it’s illegal for them to call mobile phones trying to sell their crap. I tried to ask for the manager or the name of their company, (telemarketers) but they just quickly hang up when I ask for a supervisor. They would not even let me ask them to take my number out of their calling list.
I do have caller-id, so their number shows up on my screen, however, when I try to call that number, it goes straight to voice mail and the VM gives no info that is useful to the authorities.
Question. How can I program my phone to not allow a call through if the caller is coming from the number I’ve blocked. Is there a way, a easy way?
I’ve found the answer: Took a little searching but here it is. This should stop them bastards. =D

Find Out Who is Calling Me? The Best Underground Method to End Pesky Calls
Who else is sick and tired of anonymous calls coming in to your home or cell phone? In these days of hard economic times…..are you behind on your bills and simply AFRAID to even answer your phone due to all of the unlisted, private or “blocked” digits that show up on your caller ID? If you are anything like I used to be, the NOT knowing whether a call is coming from a legitimate source, an old friend or even someone I’d really LIKE to hear from would drive me nuts!
The truth?
If you aren’t already aware of this, there ARE in fact super easy, very inexpensive and INSTANT ways to tell who keeps calling your phone…..even if they’ve try their best to remain anonymous! (especially good for collection agencies or old EX’s who WON’T seem to disappear..:-)
Filed Under: Reverse Phone Detection Services
Honestly? When I first heard of a few of these services, I had NO idea what they could (or could NOT) do. But after getting barraged by a veritable cacophony of calls from a mess of numbers I did NOT recognize (but assumed were all roughly the same person or persons due to the area code) I finally let my curiosity get the best of me and ran the digits through one of these services. Not only was the number recognized immediately…..but a whole host of other important information was shared with ME, about THEM, that was extremely enlightening to say the least..:-)
Want to know who it was?
In this case it was simply a company on the West Coast (I live on the East) who was trying to collect a very old debt they had bought from a credit card I owned when I was 24. And for such a small amount of money…and a debt that wasn’t even theirs, they were NOT shy about calling me 18 times a day, I can promise you that..:-)
The Bottom Line?
I got their physical address RIGHT from the phone detective service, and sent them a certified letter instructing them to NEVER bother me again by phone….and to sue me if they wanted their money. (it was a few hundred dollars and over 10 years old, and I knew this was a threat that would work!) I never heard from them again…and I was finally able to STOP worrying about trying to figure out who was calling me at 8am in the morning…..and AGAIN and again all day long!

How Can You Stop Prank Calls From Happening To You?
Copyright (c) 2009 Ed Opperman Have you ever gotten prank calls that you never find out who is doing it or what number they are calling from? There is a way that you can stop prank calls from happening. You need to find a way to learn the phone number, plus other information about the person calling you. There is technology available that will help you do this known as trap line; you just have to go online to find it. So, how can you stop prank calls from happening to you? There is actually a couple of different ways that you can use to prevent the prank calls that you receive. The first thing you want to do is to get technology that will help you identify the caller. Then you need to know how to prevent them from calling you again. Here are the best ways to stop them. One: If you get the right technology to help you discover who is calling you, then you will have a way that you can block their number. If you are able to block their number, then they will stop calling you or start calling you from a different phone number. In which case, you want to use one of the other ways to stop prank calls. Two: Find out the phone number, address and even the name of the person who is doing the prank calls. Then you want to call that phone number, don’t go confront them person to person, about the prank calls. Tell them that you know who they are and that you have the information on where they live. Then you want to tell them that you will notify the authorities if the calls don’t stop. Three: The last way is what you want to do only as a last resort or if the prank calls turn dangerous and that way is to go to the police with the information that you have discovered about the person using technology to help you. Make a complaint with the police department and let them take it from there. This will usually stop prank calls from continuing. Prank calls are just a part of life that you used to have to just deal with. Now there is technology available to help you learn the identity of the person calling you. It is not as hard as most people think to stop prank calls from happening. You just need to have a way to get the phone number and other personal information about the person calling you. The rest is pretty straightforward and simple.

Find Cell Phone Numbers and Private Calls Fast
With the advent of wireless communications, many of us can now enjoy more freedom than ever before. Talk whenever we want, wherever we want, to whomever we want. Always available communication has many advantages. However the anonymous, mobile nature of this new technology has also brought with it some drawbacks.
Cell Phone Privacy is a Double Edged Sword
At first, it was standard industry practice. Companies did not voluntarily give out cell phone information as no one wanted to pay for annoying interruptions from telemarketers with their expensive cellular minutes. Later as computers advanced and made it easier to place automated calls to phones at any time of the day, the governments became involved. All manner of privacy regulations were passed for every type of phone and communication device.
This seems like only a beneficial occurrence at first glance. However, a deeper look reveals something more sinister. Harassers, pranksters, and unscrupulous telemarketers (not to mention government authorities) of all kinds always have ways of finding our personal information. They place calls using their automated voice machines at all times of the day. Whenever you answer, its logged for future reference. Then they begin calling regularly at the most annoying times. When we’re working. When we’re conversing with friends or associates. When we’re entertaining. Etc.
We can’t stop it. At least, not until now. Cell phone and private numbers appearing as ‘private call’, ‘cellular call’, ‘inbound call’, ‘out of area’, and all other forms of ambiguous names on our caller I.D. were untraceable. Without their information, we have no way to stop them. Half the time, we can’t even call them back – and when we can, we either get mocked by someone making a funny voice or end up listening to a recording.
Restore Balance to the Power of Information
Now, however, there are special reverse phone directories available which finally let us search special databases to find out about cellular and private numbers. These websites will give us the name, address, background info, carrier, service status, and much more about a person’s phone number. Even if the number is marked ‘private’. 98% of all numbers are available as public records, and these websites make them accessible in seconds from one place. Unlike the free searches, we can find more than the outdated carrier or ‘phone type’ information.
These websites do charge a small fee to cover the operating expenses of maintaining accurate information. However, they allow unlimited access for as many number searches as you might have, and offer a refund if it turns out information is not available. In my experience, this is a far better option than spending hours searching the Internet only to be met with frustration.

How to stop telemarketers’ calls with concealed caller ID’s?
I joined the do-not-call list and I used to be able to report on the donotcall.gov website. But now the ugly marketing companies can hide their caller ID’s. When I pick up the phone it’s a recorded marketing message. I know there are certain machines that can detect non-human calls, but would the machines screen out those automatic calls from doctor office or library as well?
What are your thoughts on the subject?Reverse Cell Phone Lookup – How To Trace Blocked And Restricted Calls
Finding out more information about anonymous cell phone calls has never been easier thanks to new reverse lookup technology and some changes introduced by mobile carriers that now allow to track down pesky private and restricted calls online.
Yes, believe it or not – those anonymous mobile calls will be history from now on if you follow advice laid out in this article. But before we go into more details about tracing mobile calls, I would like to quickly remind you of some facts that most people simply ignore and become victims of various Internet scams.
The first on the list are so-called free reverse phone lookup directories. You should know that mobile providers like Sprint and Verizon do not publish a directory for the wireless numbers they service. Not even a paid directory – Verizon, for instance, is pretty upset with the whole idea about looking up cell phone numbers because it violates their privacy policy.
So, all those websites that promise free and info-packed reverse cell phone lookups are either scams or simply some sort of marketing schemes, which you should definitely avoid. Public directories like White and Yellow pages list only land line numbers because, as I have just said, cell phone numbers are non-published. So, don’t waste your precious time searching for free reverse phone lookups. They do not exist.
Instead, you can use a cheap, legitimate and comprehensive service to do a reverse cell phone lookup and find out who owns almost any phone number in U.S. Note, however, there is no service that can trace 100% of mobile numbers because these databases have to be compiled manually from various private and public sources. Also, there is no 100% guarantee that you will receive the up to date information about the cell phone owner.
All you will need to do is enter the number and click on the search button. If you don’t have the number to start with – if it is a private, restricted or blocked number – you will need to unmask the number first. You can follow these easy tips on how to unmask private ID calls: http://www.cellphonelookup.com/blog/2010/06/25/how-to-trace-mobile-calls-without-the-number/
All in all, remember that you should be very careful while buying information on the Interent. There is a lot of false information going around, so use your judgement to decide what is true and what is a plain fiction.
